‘Storytelling is very much an art that needs to be kept alive and Keith demonstrated this very well with his rendition of traditional Lincolnshire tales. Our ladies at Tollgate WI enjoyed a relaxing afternoon swept away to the time of King Arthur and his knights, fairies and the Devil’s Imps.

“We were visited by Keith Butters, storyteller. Keith explained how traditional storytelling links with modern technology as zoom meetings allow storytelling circles to hear stories from all around the UKeith recounted true stories based in Lincolnshire and showed us old photos of one of the characters. He also told us the story of St Paul and recited the 23rd psalm in Lincolnshire dialect.“

“One said that your stories were more suited to small groups rather than a large hall. Some said that they would have liked more stories and less about the art of storytelling.
Everyone enjoyed the stories and especially those involving Lincolnshire accents or dialect.

I gave a talk about oral storytelling followed by Lincolnshire folktales at Boston Book Festival AGM
